    • The minimum age to drive is 16 years old with a parent as a passenger at all times.
    • The minimum age to drive alone is 18 years old.
    • Guests do not need to present their driver's licenses.
    • This excursion is not suitable for guests with any type of mobility issues or pregnant guests.
    • People under the influence of alcohol or other substances will not be permitted to participate (no refund will be granted).
    • The maximum weight per ATV single rider is 300 lbs (135 Kg) and combined double riding is 400 lbs (182 Kg).

    I have never driven an ATV before so would this be a good excursion in Puerto Plata, Amber Cove,  Dominican Republic for me?
    These ATVs are automatic so there is no shifting needed. The guides will instruct guests how to ride them the terrain is not flat, but it's easy to navigate. This Amber Cove ATV Excursion is suited for most participants including those with little or no prior experience.
    Do I have to present my driver's license or pay a deposit?
     No, there isn't any document required. There is an optional $10.00 USD insurance against ATV damage that you can buy if you desire.

    Yes, you will have access to showers during the Amber Cove shore excursion.
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Amber Cove Puerto Plata ATV Adventure Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?

Our group absolutely loved every minute! Best excursion ever! We plan to do again when we return. Caliente and his team were very professional and paid very close attention to making sure the ATVs were operated in a safe manner. We also bought the video which was done quickly and in high definition. Such a great time!

My crew of 10 took this excursion on May 4, 2023...Caliente was an amazing tour guide... He made the tour so much fun. His entire staff was professional and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to reserve with them. I was also so surprised by the quality of thejr atvs. They were really nice and uo to date. My group was thoroughly pleased with this excursion last Wednesday in Amber Cove. Caliente was our guide and led us along scenic roads, where we saw mountain & ocean views, including the ship. We enjoyed witnessing how a cigar is made, and sampling homemade coffee and hot chocolate, which we also bought. We also stopped at a beach where we cooled off in the water. The ATVs were in excellent condition and easy to ride. I highly recommend this excursion for those wanting some adventure with a little bit of cultural immersion.

we were going to book an atv excursion through carnival but it was fully booked. we found this one instead and I’m glad we did! we were in our own little group instead of with tons of other people, so that was nice. we had a little bit of a long walk but he gave us cold water when we got there and halfway through our trip. we LOVED Caliente and our photographer guy! All so friendly and fun to spend the day with. We bought the yummy coffee and hot chocolate too! we normally don’t buy pictures and stuff but we did buy the photos and video he took and i’m so so happy we did because I just watched it back for the first time and i’m smiling looking back on our time there. Definitely recommend this excursion!! :))

Our tour was the best experience you could ever have! Caliente was an incredible guide and and Darlin was a world class photog. The ATVs were great, the tour stops were great, the people were great and the culture experienced was second to none. Caliente was patient, informative and engaging. Darlin worked his butt off to get great pictures and assure our trip was captured forever! This was our favorite excursion ever! You must contact them and make sure your family can enjoy Amber Cove/ Puerto Plata as much as we did! Love these guys!

When booking this excursion, I was a bit skeptical because I was booking using an outside company and not with Carnival however, I was extremely pleased with the service! Booking, pickup and drop off went very smoothly. The excursion itself is so much fun! Caliente and his team went out of their way to make our experience memorable. I cannot recommended this ATV excursion highly enough! Caliente met us with his truck outside the main gate to the port, and I must warn you, it is quite a walk from the ship so be prepared. But it’s a 3 min drive to the atv location. After a quick demonstration and a mini tour around the lot to get acquainted with the vehicle, off we went. To be clear, ANYONE can do this! It’s incredibly easy to drive these atvs so don’t be anxious…we had never done it before and within 5 mins had mastered it. My husband and I were very fortunate that we were the only people doing this excursion, and so it was him, Caliente our fantastic guide and our photographer/videographer Isaac, who would magically appear in various spots ahead of us and film us going through water and up mountains and on the beach! They took us out for approximately 3 1/2 hours, and at certain points stopped at local people’s houses, where we witnessed cigars being made from scratch, coffee being ground from beans and coconuts smacked out of the trees with giant poles and cut up for us to drink and eat! Everyone we met was delightful and friendly and so appreciative that the cruise goers were back. At the end, Isaac showed us the slides and videos that he made…more than 100 pics…and the charge was $70 which we thought reasonable as the quality was so high….he even set the video to music! Please do this excursion! We’ve never had so much fun in a port and we’ve done dozens of cruises around the world. For less than $100 each we really thought we’d got our money’s worth and more and got a way better deal than the people who did this through Carnival where I heard they had half the time and nowhere near rhe fun we did! Five Stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a wonderful time on our ATV Excursion with Caliente & Darlin this past week. What a great excursion! We got to drive ATV's in just about every setting you can imagine. On the beach, through the countryside, up and down mountain roads. All the while looking at the beauty that the Dominican Republic has to offer. You should not hesitate taking this excursion you will see how cigars, chocolate, and coffee are made as well as seeing where Jurassic Park was filmed, hold some animals & you get to go to a very beautiful empty beach. Leave your camera at home just enjoy your trip. Photos and video will be taken for a very reasonable price.... BUY IT! The photographer is GREAT and you will love your pics & video. There is no way I could have taken & setup such great shots. Darlin you did a fantastic job. Thank You guys so much for showing my family a great day. We will be back! My 15 year old is ready to move there. Muchos Gracias... Mi Chuppi!!

Can’t say enough good things about this excursion. Especially the service and hard work of our guide - Caliente. Only a 5 minute ride from the cruise port pick up location to the ATV barn. You must walk to the main hwy to meet your guide but only about 400 yards or so. Good equipment and about 20-25 miles of road & trail. The locals at this port are very kind, no high pressure people….who genuinely care that you have a great time. Thank you Caliente. We will never forget this experience. We will definitely be back.

I recently took this tour with my fiance and I liked that we got to see a lot of different areas. We taste the cacao and coffee and we definitely purchase some of their goodies. Our guides were awesome. I only wish we had a little more time at the beach..it was very nice. I recommend taking this excursion!

We were torn between doing an excursion through the ship or from another company. We decided to do an excursion outside of one through the ship and it’s the best decision we could have made. Price was very affordable and tour was excellent not rushed and not to the point where it was to many ppl were you would not be able to enjoy it. Can’t wait to book my next excursion .

A friend and I went on this with only 1 other person, so it was very personal and fun. Once we arrived at the camp where the 4 wheelers were at they gave us a quick safety check. One of the BIG plus's about this particular group is that we each had our own ATV and didn't have to double up. We had our own personal Mr. Paparazzi, as I called him, taking pictures all along the way, he got some great shots of us. We rode through a small little village and up on the mountain top, the view was incredible. Did some wine tasting and had the opportunity to try a cigar that they handmade in front of us, pretty neat process. The only complaint, and it was of no fault of theirs, was there was no water to ride through ( I wanted to get a little muddy), it was very dry and they had no rain in several months. The walk from the port to meeting place was a little ruff, sure would've liked to not had to walk so far, but still I would do again!

I booked this tour online.IT WAS FANTASTIC. My son booked ATV's with Carnival which was far more expensive for half the time. Carnivals had 2 dozen people. I got off the ship and walked out the gate my ride was at the closest possible spot waiting for me. I found out I was the only one that booked this tour but instead of cancelling it they gave me my own personal guide. My guide was friendly and not only gave me facts of the area like showing me where Jurrasic park was filmed but also was willing to take lots of pictures of me on the ATV with my camera at no extra charge.Carnival's tour had a photographer that charged extra for a group photo memory stick.

We did this excursion last week while in Amber Cove. The staff was very friendly and Bart was an awesome tour guide! It was about a 15 minute walk to get to them off the port, but well worth it. All the 4 wheelers ran great! We made several stops- the beach, saw where Jurassic Park was filmed, rode through a couple of villages and made a stop for some coffee and cigars. They do only accept cash for payment so just be sure to have enough on you. They also had “ paparazzi” that followed us during the whole tour taking photos and video. We purchased the photos for our group and it was only $40 for the entire group. Would absolutely do this tour again!

This was my favorite excursion we booked on our week long cruise. We have several kids younger than 16 and this was one of the only ones that would allow 13 and up to drive. It was so worth it. We had a few minutes walk outside the pier where they picked us up and took us to the meeting spot. They had plenty of water provided and after signing waivers, they fitted us for a helmet and then had each driver test drive the ATV to make sure we could do it. We set out through the little town and then drove on a beach where we had a great view of our ship. We then went up a mountain to see where Jurassic Park was filmed. Then they stopped and we got to see how they make cigars and taste some great cocoa and coffee. We stopped back on the beach again where you could swim for about 30 mins if you wanted before heading to the final stop of letting people hold a tarantula and parrot. My kids loved it. The guides were fantastic. They were spread out throughout the group and were right there if anyone had trouble with their 4 wheelers. My daughter had issues with hers and the mechanic swapped his with her. They were all so friendly and funny and took pictures of us. Bart is the main guide and he is super knowledgeable and friendly. I would take a bandana wit h you for the dust on the dirt roads but they had some to purchase if you forget. Again, this was our favorite excursion and it was neat to see cows and a horse wondering down the road. Even the local workers driving by us on the trail were friendly and would wait for the group to drive by. I highly recommend Bart and his team.

Omg what a wonderful adventure this was! My sister, myself and my niece took this trip in February 2019 & it was amazing!! Bart aka “morenito” who we nicknamed “Caliente” was THE BEST tour guide and he took his time with us and we had loads of fun stopping at the different points of interest and breathtaking views! We met so many wonderful people along the way and it’s by far our best adventure of our week long trip. I would recommend this adventure when visiting. We took many pictures with our own cameras and with “la paparazzi” who we nicknamed our photographer lol was amazing at suggestions and sights and getting memorable pics and videos! You will not be disappointed and you don’t have to be experienced as they give you a lesson before starting. Very simple and easy to maneuver. We are still talking about it and all the pictures are available to purchase at a very reasonable price!!! Get them!!!! Tips: you get exactly what they say they offer on this excursion, bring some money for your payment and for any tips and trinkets along the way (well worth the tipping!)!!! It was a ways walk from the port to the outside where we met our guide but after the short ride to the ATVs it was well worth it. Our first time to ride ATVs and it was exciting!!!! Thank you for an awesome first time experience! So glad we booked with you!!!!!

We did this back in November, with brother and sister in law. Only problem was that it was a very long walk out side of the cruise pier to meet with our ride. So, be prepared for that. We are all in our 60's. I had never been on an ATV, but the guide took newbies for a little ride before the start. We went on bumpy roads, through a little mud, and along the beach. It was so much fun! Made a stop at a place that rolled cigars, and made hot chocolate. We all agreed that it was one of the best excursions ever! Do it!

We had so much fun on this excursion. Bart was a terrific guide; Luis the mechanic kept on eye on everyone and made several adjustments during the trip (he tightened my brakes and I had not felt anything wrong) and Jose the Paparazzi (photographer) took a ton of great pictures. Some thoughts and observations. 1. It is a 10 min walk to get off the Carnival property. The bus dropped us off right at the gate on the return. Easy to find the tour. 2. Plenty of water and sodas provided; no need to bring your own. Pack light; you'll need a towel and sunscreen. I didn't need the bandana I bought, but my wife liked hers. 3. Riding solo is the only way to go; one couple in our group rode double and it's not fun to hold on. If you can ride a bike or drive a car, you can handle the ATV. 4. They'll wait for you; the last couple in our group had to be the last people off the ship. They'll make sure you get back on time. 5. Photos were available when we returned ($40, about what I'd expect). They were processed into a slideshow that auto starts in the computer, which is much better than I expected. The tour itself was exactly as advertised. Several stops are the same as the "official" Carnival tours. You definitely get to see a part of "off road" Dominican Republic. Time for a swim on the way back. I had a blast driving the ATV. The stops were a bonus. Overall, best tour I've taken; totally highly recommended. Everyone involved is friendly and wants you to have the best experience. Thanks again to Bart, Luis, and Jose.

We booked this for our September 5, 2018 cruise and so glad we did ! The staff was very friendly. It's a bit of a walk to get to the bus but once you are there they are there to greet you. The views are spectacular and you ride right along the beach as well They take pictures and a video so have money ready you won't be disappointed ! Can't wait to do this again !! You also stop at a little hut where Mama Rosa makes coffee and they hand roll cigars.

Hands down 1 of the best excursions we have ever done! So much fun and we learned a lot too. I was nervous to book since I have never ridden one of these ATV's but it was a piece of cake! Think we ingested a pound of dust but I don't care, that just made it all the more awesome. Cigars, wine, coffee, cocoa and animals! Oh my!!

Our ATV experience occurred on July 5th 2017 and we are still talking about it 2 months later. We had a group of 6 and we all had a fabulous time. Our tour guide Bart was outstanding! His personality and passion for his job was evident from the very beginning. As a result, we had an experience that we won't soon forget. We will definitely recommend this ATV tour (especially with Bart as your guide) to anyone looking for a great experience!

This excursion was awesome... The guide was amazing.. The tour was a total of about 3 1/2 hrs .. The scenery was beautiful. The locals were amazing and so friendly... We were late getting off our cruise(almost a hour) and they had already left with one group, However they left someone there for us and called us a van once we made it. The owner even called us after the excursion to make sure we had a great time!! It was the BEST!! This is a must Book. It was so much fun!!!

We were there two weeks ago on board of Carnival Conquest and we had such a blast! Riding at Gusmansito beach was the best, we had done ATV excursions before but always in the jungle, riding on the beach is very amusing. Our guide was the best, he took us to a place where we could buy chocolate and cigars. In general we all had a great time, thanks for everything!
