Your breathtaking adventure begins with a pickup from the pier and a relaxing 60-minute drive through the scenic Costa Rican countryside in a recent model deluxe vehicle or air-conditioned minibus. As you travel, your guide will point out many sights of interest, including mango, coffee, sugar, and citrus plantations, diverse fruit stands, and rural farming communities. You’ll be heading to the Central Pacific Coast, Tarcoles River, and Carara National Park, eventually arriving at our private property, about 60 minutes from Puntarenas Pier. Upon arrival, you’ll have some free time to use the restrooms and explore the surroundings before the adventure begins.

This tour takes you on a journey through the rainforest, nestled in the Tarcolitos River canyon, which is part of the 200-hectare private reserve of Hotel Villa Lapas. You’ll cross the river eight times over a total distance of 3.2 km in a cart drawn by a tractor at a leisurely pace, allowing you to fully appreciate the diverse flora and fauna of this special area in Costa Rica. During the tour, we’ll make several stops for birdwatching, observing significant trees, and even a stop by the river where you can step off the cart and take a dip in the pool. The two carts used for the tour can accommodate 24 and 28 people, respectively, and the journey lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

After this exciting adventure, the tour continues with a short drive to the Tarcoles River, where a 60-minute eco-boat tour will immerse you in the region's abundant wildlife. You’ll have the chance to spot huge crocodiles, a variety of aquatic birds, scarlet macaws, howler monkeys, and other amazing tropical species.

To conclude these two fantastic experiences, we’ll make a stop at El Jardin Souvenir Store, one of the largest and best in the region, where you can purchase a special gift from Costa Rica before returning to the pier. Upon arrival, you can choose to stay in the city or head back directly to the ship. The pier is conveniently located in the city, just a short distance from your ship, ensuring an easy return for those who wish to explore further.
