    • The walk to the cave tubing start is approximately 25-30 minutes.

    What is the water temperature on the cave tube excursion?
    The water is refreshing, around 70 to 74 degrees, and it stays about the same year-round. It is a great refreshment when you have been hiking on a warm day.
    I'm sort of claustrophobic. Can I participate in the cave tubing excursion in Belize?
    Yes you can! First, if you like, you can keep your lights on and keep moving while going through a cave. Just let your guide know how you feel and you will be assisted with pleasure.
    I am not good at walking for a long time, is this cave tubing excursion right for me?
    The walk is approximately 25-30 minutes from the start of the river. The hiking part of this cave tube tour is not strenuous and the paths are well-maintained and smooth. You will not be pushed to go faster than is comfortable for you. The guides will assist as needed, such as carrying your tube, etc. However, keep in mind you will walk approximately 2 miles.
    I cannot swim. Can I still do cave tubing?
    Yes, cave tubing does not require swimming, unless you want to. Being an inexperienced swimmer is also not a problem. You will get on your inner tube in shallow water and you ride in the tube the entire time of the excursion. You will also be wearing a life jacket for safety and comfort. If you inform your guide that you cannot swim, he can assure you feel safe during the excursion.
    What is the travel time to the cave tubing site?
    It is about one hour to and from the site. The site is Caves Branch Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve.
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Belize Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Cave Tubing Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?

Rooster and Jr made the tour so much fun! We left promptly after getting off the boat and were back in plenty of time. Lunch was great. Rooster was very informative about life in Belize, taught us so much about the plant life along the trail and he was very knowledgeable about the caves. Our group had ages 9-65 and we all had a great time.

We we taken to the excursion in a timely manner, arrived and began on time..we were led by Marco I believe and he was top notch! Even carried my tube for me! Had a great lunch afterwards on the way back and arrived back at port in plenty of time to board the ship. It is a long drive out there but the beauty of nature there is well worth it!

First time with cave tubing and can honestly say it is a favorite now. Our guide, Nelson with V.I.V. Tours was phenomenal. He pointed out flora, lizards, bats, etc. and knew everything about the biology and history of the area. Definitely made this an adventure to remember!

awesome! rooster and junior were great, they were very informative and showed us jungle survival skills and plant identification. they were hard working and gave us a nice lunch. Highly recommend. went a little futher upstream than the "other guys" so we saw more.

Great Excursion! We had 7 in our group including kids age 6, 8, and 10 years old. The kids had a blast! Axel was an awesome guide! We will definitely go back!! Make sure to wear old tennis shoes or supportive swim shoes. My only critique is that we barely made it back on the boat after the excursion and the gear at the helmet lights at the tubing site need some updating. Great Excursion!

We had the best time on this excursion. The guides were awesome! They gave us so much information and history of Belize during our excursion. We felt safe the entire time. They definitely go above and beyond and I would highly recommend! They also fed us a great lunch after which was a pleasant surprise! You won’t be disappointed

We were cruising on the Carnival Freedom, once the tender boat gets you to the port terminal, the local operator was very visible with their yellow canopy booth and yellow polo shirts and signs just to the right of where we got off the tender. Very easy to confirm we were with the right company! Our group was small- only 15 people. Our guides Robin and Oscar were so friendly and knowledgeable the 45ish minute van ride to get to the cave tubing sight just flew by. Once at the sight, the walk thru the jungle was truly beautiful and Robin told us all the names of the trees and their medicinal properties, animals that lived there, and other history of the area. My only word of advice would be to have good quality water shoes with thick soles since all the paths you walk on (and walking thru the river too) are covered in medium to large size river rocks. Due to my cheap quality Walmart water shoes, my feet hurt during and the next day after this excursion. Also, use bug spray before and after tubing, I could tell where mine had rubbed off from the tube because that’s where I got bit, and Belize mosquitoes mean business, LOL. But I would do it all again because it was an amazing tour. The water was so blue and clear and the formations in the caves and the scenery all around you was just beyond words beautiful!!! After the cave tubing we were treated to a meal of chicken, rice and beans, and coleslaw with complementary coke/Fanta orange or strawberry (rum punch was available but I didn’t try it). The food was very good and the owner himself came out to thank us for using his company. The drive back to the cruise terminal was filled with more information from our guides and they took us on a short sightseeing trip thru a different part of Belize city to show us more of the city. All in all it was a great day and I would definitely do business with this tour company again!!!!

This was the greatest excursion ever! When we got to the port someone was there waiting to ensure we all went to the right place. The guides and drivers gave us all a complimentary bottle of water for the ride up to the mountain. The guides talked the whole hour and fifteen minutes to the mountain. They were amazingly knowledgeable. Once at the reserve we had a few minutes to change and our guide Edgar led us on the 30 trek through the jungle to the river. Along the way he would stop and tell us interesting facts about the jungle, wildlife and plants. We saw some other tubers that walking through the jungle as well but unlike us they were carrying their tubes. Once at the river we split into groups of 8. We got our tubes from the 3 guys that carried and blew up our tubes. Edgar tied the tubes together and he helped everyone into their tube. We set off down river and into the cave. Edgar told us about the all the cave formations and steered our tubes to ensure we we're all in the perfect spot to see and experience everything. He took us over to the underground falls and put us just close enough to feel the change in water temperature. At one point when the river slowed he got in front and pulled our raft through the slow down to ensure we kept moving. There was never a dull moment on this excursion. Once back from to the bus, they gave us enough time to change and do a little shopping at the huts. Edgar's brother accompanied me and made sure I didn't get taken advantage of. We then departed the reserve and returned to the excursion office where the table was set. Rice and beans, Chicken and cold slaw was on the menu. It was so good I had to get seconds. Once everyone was done eating we boarded the bus back to the port. The Guides' let us sleep until we were about 5 minutes away from the port. Then they politely woke us and gave us a few last minute facts about Belize.These guys work their butts off to ensure you have the best experience possible! I will do this again!

This was a great adventurous but relaxing excursion. Our guides, Donisha and Roy were wonderful and kept us entertained as well as gave us so much information about Belize on the hour long trip to the caves and back. At the very start we were all given a much needed bottle of water and lunch included a soda. The lunch and rum punch were good and the caves and water were beautiful. I give 4 stars because the life vests smelled terrible and a couple people from our group were left with mild skin rashes because of them. There was a scorpion in one also that someone from another group was stung by. My advice- wear a shirt under the life vest. Also they are not kidding about the 25 min hike to get to the starting point. It wasn’t bad though, nice views and lots of nature. I would do this again

This is a must do. My favorite excursion of the four we did during our cruise. Meet tour at the port. Then take about an hour ride to the location. Our guide, Dwayne Roca, AKA The Rock, was amazing. He was so passionate about his country and knew so much. The tour would not have been as personal and enjoyable if it weren't for him. He told us all about Belize on the ride to the caves. Once you arrive at the location you have about a 20 minute walk up to the tubing section. The Rock had so much to say during our walk that it didn't seem that long. he knows the jungle. We learned so much! Tubing through the caves is incredible. I have never seen such beauty! With this tour you also do NOT have to carry your tube up to the location. They are waiting for you as you arrive. Other tours were jealous about that!!! There is also a bottom to the tube and a headrest so you are floating comfortable! Do it, you won't regret it!

Perfect family excursion! Suffolk, VA

After about an hour drive from the port, through Belize City & Belizean countryside, we walked through a secondary rainforest at Nohoch Che’en, then went by tubes down a river through an ancient cave. It was so beautiful, I don’t even have words to describe it. Belize is the only place in the world to do cave tubing. In the rainforest we saw many neat plants & trees, including an “Elmer’s Glue” tree (when you bend the leaves, a white, glue-like substance comes out). Another was one whose leaves contain orange ink; the Mayans would have used these for war paint. Our guide, Manuel, drew smiley faces on the girls’ hands & it stayed for 2 days. He also used a thin leaf to draw a huge tarantula out of its den! We were equally mesmerized & freaked out. After tubing, we had time to swim in the beautifully cool, clear river. On the ride back to the port we were running a little behind, so we got our lunches to-go & didn’t hear a peep from the kids the whole ride; everything was so delicious. Manuel said our meal was one a Belizean family might enjoy on a Sunday. We booked this tour through @Shore Excursioneer & I highly recommend it. We had more time on the tour than the cruise ship group & lunch was not included in their tour.

This cave tubing excursion was our favorite excursion by far! Easy instructions for meeting. Our guides Roy Lion and Avatar were Amazing! Very helpful and knowledgeable. We went with my 4 year old daughter (who just made the height minimum) and 10 year old son. Definitely recommend good water shoes with a thick sole as the walk is very rocky. This is the only tubing excursion that doesn't make you carry your tube. The tubes are very comfy too as they have a backrest and bottom so you can truly relax and take in the view. The water was beautiful, crystal clear. The lunch served was very tasty as well. Definitely recommend this excursion!

This excursion was amazing. Our guides Donisha, Manuel, and Roberto were knowledgeable about country and made us feel very safe. The lunch and rum punch was the best I had ALL week long!!! We had children and adults of all ages and everyone had a great time. We didn’t have to carry our tubes like other tour companies. And we got a longer time tubing. A MUST DO!!!

This is a must do!! You take about a 45 minute ride while the tour guides tell you all about Belize. Then it's about a 25 minute walk through the rain forest which is gorgeous, but it's not a bad walk. The tour guides take about 8 people and guide you down the river and through the cave. It is amazing!! Other groups had to carry their tubes but we didn't and our tube had a bottom and a back cushion. It was so relaxing. We then had a great lunch. The tour guides are fantastic!!! You really can't go wrong. I've always booked through the ship and was skeptical about using ShoreExcursioneer but they were awesome with all of our excursions. I'll definitely use them again!!

We did the Cave Tubing excursion while in Belize on OCT 05, 2016. Things were somewhat disorganized at the pick up point and we were transported by bus instead of van but, with three ships (Carnival Dream, Carnival Magic, Norwegian Getaway) in port, I guess this is to be expected. By the time we arrived at the starting point for the excursion everything seemed to be worked out. The passengers on the ship leaving two hours before our ship were separated from the rest of us and sent ahead to start their excursion earlier. Once we picked up our life jackets and helmets we started the 35 minute trek to the start of the tubing. The path was rocky but level. Be sure to wear thick-soled water shoes, etc. for the trek. We had a nice nature tour on the way. And I definitely enjoyed seeing the people on other tours carrying their tubes. We didn't need to carry ours and, when asked by other tour participants why we weren't carrying tubes, our guide told them that we were all movie stars. The tubing was very enjoyable, even through the "butts up" areas and our guide made it even more enjoyable with his humor. After the tubing we enjoyed a fairly nice lunch - all you can eat chicken, beans and rice, and cole slaw all washed down with all you can drink rum punch. We even had a couple jugs of rum punch brought onto the bus for our trip back to the port. We arrived back at the port with plenty of time to spare before our ship departed. I recommend this tour. Much cheaper than any similar tours offered by the cruise line and no tube carrying.

5 stars to our tour guides Sharon, Eddie and Carlos. Our group feels they made the trip awesome. It was a tad hot having to wear life jackets and helmets through the rain forest. It was a very long hot walk to get to the tubes, about 30 minutes or longer and you did have to walk over rocks which kinda hurt my feet even in swim shoes.We did not have to carry our tubes except for about 3 minutes right before we got in the water to ride through the caves. All of the tubes we had did have seats in them. There is a creek you have to walk across, since it had rained the night before we arrived there the water was high so it was more like a river waist high. My mother can't swim at all so she was kinda freaking out, but Sharon held on to her life jacket and my brother was in front of mom and there is a rope to hold onto to get across. Mom did great crossing the river. Sharon was awesome with helping her across. Once in the tubes that they had tied together it was smooth sailing. No way at all to flip them over. You will get hot, sweaty, and wet. If it wasn't for Carlos staying at the back of the group with us, my dad may have not made it. He has hip problems and breathing problems sometimes so Carlos hung back with us so we could go slow and the rest of the group went ahead with Sharon and we met at the tubes. The water was so refreshing. Lunch wasn't good at all. Sharon, Eddie and Carlos are AWESOME.

From start to finish this was so much fun.....Dave and Leonardo were great. Lots of information about Belize as we drove to the start of the tubing...you could even rent water shoes for the tubing. Great walk through the rainforest I even tasted a termite. Tastes like woody mint haha. The tubing through he caves was fantastic. The food was delicious as well. A great end to a great day. I would highly recommend this tour.

Just got back from a 2 week vacation including Disney and I must say this was the highlight of our trip!! David is hilarious and kept the trip fun and entertaining, Leonardo was full of knowledge and told us so many things about Belize. These people go above and beyond to make your trip enjoyable and relaxing. My son lost his GoPro in one of the caves and David went back into the cave once the trip was done and actually found it for him. The caves were beautiful and the walk getting there was amazing, our guides gave us so much background of the area and we thoroughly enjoyed this excursion, it was the best part of our trip. The lunch afterward was amazing as well. Don't miss this opportunity if you are in Belize!

Great price, lots of fun!!! We had awesome, very informative guides, we didn't have to carry our tubes until the last 10 minutes. We got a longer tubing experience than those who booked through the ships. Loved the lunch break!!! I recommend good soled water shoes, much needed for the hike before tubing. Kind of a long walk, but I loved it. May be too hard for individuals who can't walk too much. Also bring a waterproof camera!!! Definitely would book through this company again!!!

We loved the caving tubing! We had a big group of 16 and had two guides (Jenny and Melvin). It was a 45 minutes drive from port, but they talked the entire time about Belize from economics to agriculture. They were very knowledgeable. When we go to the base camp they were organized and helpful. We didn't have to carry our own tube! If you book with the cruise line you have to carry your own tube. It was a 30 minute walk, but they stop along the way and point you different plant and wildlife. I never felt out of breath. The tubing itself was a blast. I would do it again!

This excursion was awesome! Jose was the best tour guide I have ever had. He informed us about the country during the drive in the clean brand new van. Also the jungle was breathtaking: The trees, rock formations, the caves and the RIVER! Jose worked hard to guide us through the caves swimming the whole way. LOL. The best part was we got to compare our experience to the other companies offering tours. The inner tubes were better, we didn't have to carry them through the entire jungle and we were fed the most simple, delicious meal of Belizean chicken and rice afterwards. Should I visit Belize again, I'll be sure to book this again.

Loved it! We had 2 of the greatest guides - Renee & Rogelo. The walk was a little longer than we expected but my brother has had both hips replaced and it was a little much for him. Renee found him a safe comfortable place along the river bank where he could wait for us to come down stream and then they helped him into his tube and we were back on our way. They cared about our safety. We wore life vests, Helmets and head lamps. The tubes had back rests and bottoms so they were very comfy. We didn't have to carry our tubes the entire walk as a lot of the other tour groups did. We only had to carry them a few feet down the path to the launch site. After our group of 8 was all in the water they fastened us together and lead us thru the caves. Renee lead the group and took his time to teach us things about the rainforest along the way. Rogelo played tail to make sure no one strayed. After the tubing was over they took us to a nice Belizian lunch of stewed chicken, beans and rice, coleslaw and a great rum punch. Thank you Renee and Rogelo for such a memorable time!

The experience was exactly what we expected. The river was very refreshing, the activity was extremely relaxing and fun at the same time. It is great for both kids and adults. The guides, Smiley and Nadie were very informative, had excellent sense of humor, kept us on schedule and most importantly kept the group safe. THE RUM PUNCH WAS AMAZING. We definitely recommend this excursion.

Our family had a good time but I decided not to bring my 3 year old son even though it said 2 yrs was the minimum age. He stayed onboard the ship. I wish I would have brought him! My other sons loved floating down through the caves.

Everyone in the group had a good time especially my brother-in-law who was so relaxed he fell asleep in his tube! The tubes have built in head rests and very comfortable.
